Mother

Mother

As I lie here on this summer day

There is something I can honestly say

And that is, the love I have for my mother

Is a special love I can give no other

For it can grow slowly yet never waver

It is a love that I can savour

As it stand tall and strong eternally

Burning forever internally

As my mother teaches now

So it is so I have know-how

Now she stands firmly by my side

So I will grow with the changing tide

For she is the one who guards and protects me

I can find no other as wonderful as she

She is my guardian and an angel above

She is my mother - Pamela.

This was written in the 70's when I was a child for my mother's birthday one year

The sad part is that many of my early poems were lost when a writing tablet of mine was stolen
